Background

Walk Me Home Rescue is a pet rescue and animal shelter working to place animals in loving homes across the United States. Their day-to-day is hands-on and heartfelt — caring for animals while doing the harder work of finding each one the right family.

In animal rescue, the adoption listing does a lot of the heavy lifting. Adopters scroll through dozens of profiles, and the photo or short video is often what makes someone stop and look closer. A flat, poorly lit snapshot can leave a wonderful animal overlooked; a warm, true-to-life image can be the difference that gets a dog or cat noticed and, ultimately, home.

Objectives

  • Create adoption photos and videos that help each animal stand out in a listing
  • Capture the real personality of every animal, not just a posed shot
  • Give the rescue a consistent, repeatable way to present new arrivals
  • Produce content that works across adoption pages and social feeds

Scope & deliverables

  • Photography of animals for adoption listings
  • Videography — short profile clips that show each animal in motion
  • Edited stills and clips formatted for listing pages and social platforms
  • A simple, repeatable shoot approach the rescue can rely on for new intakes

Our approach

Shooting animals is unpredictable, so patience mattered more than equipment. We worked at each animal’s pace, letting nervous dogs and cats settle before capturing them — the goal was to catch real character, the head tilt or the tail wag that makes an adopter feel a connection through the screen.

We kept the look warm and honest. Clean, natural framing puts the focus squarely on the animal, and the short video clips add the movement and personality that a still can’t quite carry. Everything was cut to work hard in the small space of an adoption listing and to keep performing when shared on social.

  • Animal-led, patient shooting to capture genuine personality — see our take on pet and animal photography
  • Short profile clips that bring listings to life, drawing on short-form video thinking
  • Files prepared for both adoption pages and social sharing

Final words

The photos and videos give Walk Me Home Rescue a stronger, warmer way to introduce every animal in its care — and a better shot at the moment that matters: getting noticed.
